Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Wausau Comprehensive Treatment Center. As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you will play a vital role in the treatment and recovery of patients struggling with opioid use disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Plan, oversee, facilitate, and document patient recovery.
  • Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
  • Prepare individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
  • Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
  • Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and case management duties for patients.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a social or health services field.
  • Prefer Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social or health services field.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in an addiction recovery and/or MAT environment.
  • Licenses/Certifications: SACIT or eligible.
