Middle School Track Coach

Job Summary:

Utica Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Track Coach to join our team at Malow Junior High School. As a key member of our athletic program, you will be responsible for assisting with the operation of the track team while ensuring compliance with district, building, and MHSAA rules and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of track team practices, meets, and other activities in accordance with district and MHSAA policies.
  • Help coordinate team development, including player skill-building, off-season workouts, and camps.
  • Support the physical, emotional, and academic development of student athletes, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Collaborate with the head coach and other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective team effort.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in track and field coaching.

Requirements:

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in track and field.
  • CPR, concussion certification, and AED training are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members, parents, and school administrators.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Valid State of Michigan Teacher's Certificate is preferred.
