Join IOTA Community Schools as a Middle School Math Teacher and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing a high-quality education to students in Memphis, Tennessee. As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students. You will participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings and professional development to refine your practice and stay current in the field. Our staff is committed to continuing their own learning and growth, and we offer specialized professional development, bi-weekly observations, and opportunities to grow and develop to enable strong teaching and learning in every classroom. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education, regardless of their zip code or socio-economic status. Your responsibilities will include: Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students with clear, standard-aligned objectives and appropriate assessments to gauge student comprehension
  • Participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings and professional development to internalize content, teaching moves, and classroom management to improve your practice
  • Participate in a collaborative learning environment with other team members, including grade-level work, content teams, and professional development throughout the school year
  • Execute school-based duties, including student conferences, arrival and dismissal, transitions, lunch duty, and other assigned by the school leadership team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Candidates must have either (a) a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement to teach or (b) a valid out of state license that can successfully be transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or (c) demonstrate they are on track to complete the necessary steps towards certification in Tennessee
  • Belief in the IOTA mission - relentlessly pursuing excellence, guided by fostering relationships, accountability, determination, and justice
  • Ability to meet deadlines related to lesson plan submission, grades, and other requirements
  • Humility, sense of humor, and rock-solid commitment to IOTA's mission and the communities we serve
Additional Information

Our teacher salary is based on years of certified experience and ranges from $51,500 to $75,250. We also offer a comprehensive benefits plan and the opportunity to impact a growing, mission-driven organization committed to the success of all students. We strive for a balanced, productive workforce that is diverse in terms of age, gender, and cultural identity. We do not base hiring or promotional decisions on factors other than performance and professional growth potential. Please note that we are unable to sponsor H1 VISA applicants.
