Job Summary

The Senior MRI Technologist Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in the provision of imaging services. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, family members, physicians, and other personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Remote MRI Technologist in performing high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Properly place and maintain patient IV access for patients, as needed, using aseptic technique.
  • Administer MR contrast agents as prescribed by the ordering physician and identify adverse reactions following injection.
  • Assist with the overall workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments and monitor and order supplies to avoid disruption of service.
  • Promptly investigate and report for correction any service malfunction to ensure minimal downtime and maintain detailed and accurate records of service calls.
  • Ensure patient history form is accurate, complete, and reviewed with the Remote Technologist and identify and investigate areas of concern to preclude patient incidents.
  • Transport patient to and from the MR suite, properly position patient, ensuring safety and comfort, and provide proper patient communication throughout the examination.
  • Assist with clinical accreditation applications and inspections as needed and perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • ARRT (R) and state license, if applicable.
  • Alpha RT Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and competency in the clinical area of the practice.
  • Excellent people skills, a high level of adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year experience in the medical field preferred.
  • I.V. skills preferred. Training to be provided prior to initiation of patient care.
Physical Requirements
  • Standard work environment. May be exposed to a strong magnetic field and bloody/body fluids and infectious disease.
