Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for an open rank faculty position in Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery within the Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and clinical service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery and a proven track record of academic and clinical excellence.
Requirements
PhD/MD or equivalent is required. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to perform job functions in an upright position, frequently. Ability to perform job functions while walking/mobile, frequently. Ability to work indoors, continuously. Ability to work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes, infrequently. Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces, infrequently. Ability to perform job functions from kneeling positions, infrequently. Ability to squat and perform job functions, infrequently. Ability to perform 'pinching' operations, infrequently. Ability to fully use both hands/arms, frequently. Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, frequently. Ability to reach in all directions, frequently. Possess good finger dexterity, continuously. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions, continuously. Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted, infrequently. Ability to lift objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted, infrequently. Ability to lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted, infrequently. Ability to push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted, infrequently. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, continuously. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand, frequently. Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance, frequently. Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, continuously. Good peripheral vision capabilities, continuously. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction, continuously. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, frequently.
