About USGP Pharmacy Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our USGP team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pharmacists in receiving and reviewing prescriptions, including controlled drugs and non-prescription medications.
  • Evaluate patient responses to prescription and non-prescription medications according to established agreements and protocols.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to clarify issues or problems with dosing, interactions, or instructions as needed.
  • Maintain inventory levels by preparing replenishment orders, receiving stock, checking for discrepancies, and rotating medication stock and supplies.
  • Coordinate stock level changes based on demand and seasonal requirements.
  • Enter medication orders into electronic healthcare systems and review orders to identify allergies, interactions, and duplicate orders.
  • Perform standard assays on finished products, verify ingredients, and ensure proper labeling and pharmaceutical elegance.
  • Operate, maintain, and assist other staff members on common and specialized instruments, including pharmacy machines and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Education: Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by ASHP OR graduate of a technical, hospital, or retail-based program.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Must have an active BLS through American Heart Association or military program.
  • Experience: 1 year of pharmacy technician experience post-program graduation.
  • Board Certification: Certified by PTCB or Except/Possible waiver for those with CHPT.

Estimated Salary Range:$43,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
