Scientific Communications Specialist

Carilion Clinic seeks a seasoned Scientific Communications Specialist to join our innovative team. As a key member, you will be responsible for shaping and creating scientific communications pieces for various outlets. Your expertise in developmental editing, substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, and word-for-word checking will ensure accuracy and consistency. You will also review content, grammar, usage, style, and format to guarantee adherence to professional and industry standards.
About You:
We require a candidate with postdoctoral research experience and > 5 years' experience in medical and scientific communication. A Master's degree is mandatory, while a Doctoral degree is preferred. Additionally, professional certification in medical/scientific writing and editing (e.g., AMWA, BELS) is necessary. Skilled in English grammar, style, and usage rules; Microsoft Office suite; and digital editing tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Track Changes, Comments. You should have excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Earnings Potential:
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $95,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience. In addition to your base salary, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, and generous paid time off.
