Job Summary

At ACTIVE ELECTRIC, INC., we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrician Assistant and Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will assist experienced electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems at construction sites, commercial businesses, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in installing electrical systems, including wiring for sound systems, security systems, and voice and data systems.
  • Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings using wrenches and other hand tools.
  • Secure brackets to studs with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to junction boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
  • Use a variety of tools, including conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers, to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Install motors, transformers, and generators, following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools, to ensure accurate installations.
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, using test meters, to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals, ensuring secure connections.
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation, tightening connections and repairing damaged units as needed.
  • Wire panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws, and punches, to complete installations.
  • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools, to facilitate efficient installations.
  • Clean work areas and wash parts, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, and keep parts and supplies in order, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites by hand, as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more, as required by the job.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must provide hand tools required for the job.
  • Overtime may be required, depending on project needs.
