Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Chemist

Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Senior Quality Assurance Chemist is primarily accountable for overseeing the quality assurance processes of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage multiple responsibilities within the quality assurance sector. A solid understanding of Analytical Chemistry is essential, as this position involves hands-on laboratory work and the ability to troubleshoot complex analytical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct daily quality assurance evaluations of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, providing technical guidance and reviewing outputs as necessary.
  2. Collaborate closely with Quality Control Lab Managers to ensure that product quality and delivery timelines align with customer requirements and expectations.
  3. Innovate new methodologies for product testing in conjunction with the quality control team and design chemists.
  4. Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, and GC.
  5. Resolve production challenges that arise from unique process issues by partnering with the Inorganic Lab Manager.
  6. Comply with all safety, quality, and operational protocols to meet regulatory and internal standards.
  7. Foster a positive and collaborative work atmosphere through effective communication.
  8. Assist in training new laboratory personnel and maintain comprehensive training documentation.
  9. Ensure adherence to inventory management practices to support seamless production operations.
  10. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across departments to enhance operational efficiency and align with corporate objectives.
  11. Participate in management discussions regarding laboratory enhancements and the implementation of Lean methodologies.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline; advanced degrees in Analytical Chemistry are preferred.
  2. Up to 5 years of laboratory experience, including methods development and operation of analytical instrumentation.
  3. Proficiency in instrumental analysis and data interpretation.
  4. Experience in project management is advantageous.
  5. Strong analytical skills with a focus on data processing and review.
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of quality control procedures and methodologies.
  7. Hands-on experience in sample preparation for analytical assessments.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and LIMS, with a solid mathematical foundation.
  9. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required.
  10. Self-driven, capable of multitasking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  11. Strong problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  12. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
  13. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  14. Demonstrated strong work ethic and adaptability within a growing organization.
  15. Self-motivated with the capability to analyze, organize, plan, prioritize tasks, and achieve results through process-focused production.
