Child-Care Regulation Inspector

As a Child-Care Regulation Inspector with the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children in Texas. This position involves monitoring and investigating child-care facilities throughout the state, providing training and technical assistance to providers, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct facility inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with child-care regulations
• Provide training and technical assistance to child-care providers to improve compliance and promote best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address risks to children's health and safety
• Process provider plans of action and follow up on enforcement actions to ensure compliance
• Respond to emergency complaints of high-risk situations in licensed operations
Requirements:
• Knowledge of Texas laws and regulations related to child-care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
