Financial Analysis and Accounting Services

This position is responsible for leading all financial analysis and accounting services for The High Companies and its holdings. The real estate portfolio consists of investment-grade multi-family, commercial, retail, and hospitality assets. The management company provides property/asset management, development, brokerage, building, grounds, and construction services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting and Reporting: Oversight of the monthly financial close and reporting cycle for each legal entity, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Collaboration with the Tax department to support tax compliance.
  • Responsible for external audit execution, including managing relationships with audit firms, scheduling, organizing information requests, adopting new accounting pronouncements, and reporting to the Audit Committee.
  • Fostering business partnerships with operational leaders for each asset class, providing insights into areas for financial improvement.
  • Oversight and management of financial reporting to management and the Board, including various views (entity, asset class, and ownership level), requiring knowledge of consolidation accounting.
Transactional Analysis and Support
  • Manage and support Financial Analysts who perform all underwriting of acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.
  • Financial business partner for asset class leaders, supporting deal structure, entity formation, and capital formation strategies.
  • Collaboration in the preparation of and responsible for review of Investment Committee materials.
  • Support for financings and refinancing's.
  • Responsible for project cost tracking and reporting.
Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Manage the budget and forecast processes and related reporting.
  • Manage the annual valuation process for all real estate holdings.
  • Responsible for the financial modeling to support the annual strategic planning process, providing cash sources and uses and return projections for various stakeholders spanning a five-year period.
  • Act as liaison between management and the Family Office.
