Phlebotomy Specialist

Millennium Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of quality in our specimen collection process.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Process and package collections or shipping to ensure timely and accurate delivery to our laboratory.
- Serve as an intermediary between our laboratory and healthcare providers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in our ordering portal.
- Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite to ensure efficient operations.
- Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable).
- May be required to drive from/to multiple facilities.
- 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients.
- 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer.
- Valid driver's license.
- Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus.
- Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
- Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs.
