We are currently seeking a Support Caseworker to deliver essential services to clients and families as part of our new statewide Recruitment, Retention, Training, and Support (RRTS) initiative. This role primarily serves the Sioux City area, including Woodbury and surrounding counties.
Work Environment
This position offers flexible scheduling, with the majority of work conducted remotely. However, occasional travel to office locations for training and team meetings will be necessary. Travel is also required to meet client needs, and mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
Key Responsibilities
The Support Caseworker acts as the primary contact for foster and adoptive families, providing them with the support they need. Responsibilities include:
- Recruitment of potential foster and adoptive families
- Responding to inquiries and addressing concerns
- Facilitating training sessions
- Assisting with licensing processes
- Supporting family matching
- Providing placement assistance
- Offering support after a child leaves the home
This role involves collaboration with a team to ensure the best possible matches for children in our care. The Support Caseworker will also be responsible for completing home study renewals and updates for licensed resource families within specified timelines.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess one of the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Human Services or Behavioral Sciences, with at least one year of experience in child welfare as a worker or foster parent
Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills and a strong desire to collaborate with foster and adoptive families. Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are advantageous but not mandatory.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass comprehensive background checks, including those related to dependent adult and child abuse registries, the sex offender registry, and criminal history.
