Director of Hunger Eradication Initiative

About the Role:
">- This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the execution of the Make Hunger History initiative, a bold and ambitious effort to end hunger in Massachusetts.
- The successful candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in program leadership, directing coalition-based initiatives, or a similar role, with a deep commitment to the mission and goals of Make Hunger History.
- They will be responsible for leading the backbone function, collaborating with the Chief Policy Officer, and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders, partners, and the Advisory Committee.
- Experience executing complex initiatives and working with diverse coalitions, strong operational and project management skills, as well as facilitation and presentation skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
">- Leadership & Management:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Make Hunger History initiative, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision set by Project Bread and coalition leadership.
- Collaborate with the Chief Policy Officer to implement the initiative's strategic plan, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
- Facilitation & Stakeholder Alignment:
- Collaborate with the Advisory Committee, workgroups, and partners to drive programmatic, movement-building, legislative, and advocacy priorities.
- Assist the Advisory Committee and workgroup co-chairs with meeting facilitation and materials preparation.
- Communications:
- Serve as a public ambassador for Make Hunger History, clearly articulating objectives and goals to various audiences.

- A strong understanding of issues related to hunger or food insecurity, comfort with ambiguity, and flexibility to adapt to evolving needs are essential for this role.
- We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000-$95,000, flexible paid time off, benefits including Blue Cross Blue Shield health and dental, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
