Job Title: Pediatrician

At CAPITAL AREA HEALTH NETWORK, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatrician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Pediatrician to provide high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents in our community health center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries in children from birth to age 21.
  • Determine the need for x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests.
  • Implement pediatric treatment plans based on examination findings and test results.
  • Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews.
  • Support health promotion and disease prevention activities to enable each child to reach full potential.
  • Monitor physical and psychosocial growth and development.
  • Conduct age-appropriate screening.
  • Provide advice and education for patients and parents regarding appropriate preparation for predictable developmental challenges.
  • Determine the need for consultation and assist in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
  • May instruct medical students and/or residents in procedures for diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of infants and children.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine degree or accredited by the American Osteopathic Association with a Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
  • Successful completion of an approved program of residency training in pediatrics.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Virginia in addition to current DEA registration.
