Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Gateway Terminal is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, including dump trucks, to perform tasks such as spreading and loading onsite materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  2. Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; maintain accurate records.
  3. Move, load, and position raw materials with the use of material-moving equipment.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a Visa sponsorship.
  2. Must be 18 years or older.
  3. Ability to effectively operate independently with minimal supervision.
  4. Willing to work a flexible schedule.
  5. Ability to read, comprehend and carry out simple instructions from oral instructions or written correspondence.
  6. Must be able to work in a cold/hot environment.
  7. Detail oriented and accurate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. CDL, or comparable work experience.
  3. Ability to communicate via 2-way radio.
  4. Truck dispatch experience, better practices.
  5. Understand, and speak Spanish.

Work Environment:

The work environment involves hazards, risks, or discomforts typical of working around with or around machinery with exposed moving parts, arrant chemicals, heavy equipment, extreme heights, or abusive or hostile clientele and patients. Exposure to disagreeable weather conditions and extreme levels of temperature, ventilation, lighting, and sound is normal.
