About the Department:
The Parks and Recreation Department of Tukwila oversees 159 acres of parks, 12 miles of trails, and various recreational facilities. The department is dedicated to developing and maintaining parks while offering a wide array of programs and services for all age groups.
Position Overview:
The City of Tukwila is seeking a Recreation Program Site Supervisor to assist in managing Youth and Teen Recreation Programs. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with occasional evening shifts as required. This position will not exceed 1040 hours within a 12-month timeframe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of program staff and participants while maintaining a clean and secure environment.
- Complete and manage necessary documentation for recreation staff.
- Enforce facility, equipment, and program regulations, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and organization of various programs and events.
- Other duties may vary based on specific responsibilities for each position.
(A) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
(B) Knowledge of safety practices and potential hazards;
(C) Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
(D) Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, participants, volunteers, and the public;
(E) Physical capability to perform essential job functions;
(F) Familiarity with scheduling systems, registration software, and Microsoft Office.
Minimum Qualifications:
(A) High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
(B) At least 18 years of age;
(C) Preferred college coursework in Recreation, Education, or a related field;
(D) Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, including at least six months in a supervisory capacity.
Special Requirements:
Valid Driver's License/ID required. Candidates must be physically capable of participating in physical activities and maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications or obtain them prior to employment.
