The Surgical Scrub Tech operates under the guidance of the circulating Registered Nurse and is committed to advocating for patient safety and comfort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist physicians effectively during surgical and endoscopic procedures.
  • Ensure the availability of appropriate instruments and supplies throughout the operation.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques to guarantee a safe surgical environment.
  • Employ time management skills to optimize surgical schedules.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to hospital initiatives.
  • Engage in departmental projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Support colleagues as needed to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional essential duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a surgical scrub tech is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various surgical procedures is essential.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment is necessary.
  • Must maintain a sterile environment and be sterile conscious.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
