Job Opportunity

Pomerene Hospital is seeking a skilled cook to join our Dietary Staff. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in food service or a willingness to learn.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking all entrees, vegetables, starches, and soups for the patient and cafeteria food service according to standardized recipes. The goal is to provide high-quality food service and achieve a positive dietary image in the perception of the patient, employee, and community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move throughout the facility and perform the physical requirements needed to deliver dietary services as assigned.
  • Perform manual and administrative responsibilities according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of patient diets and understand basic food service regulations.
  • Follow recipes appropriately.
  • Work cooperatively with unit staff and ancillary departments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Pomerene Hospital's Values.
  • Deliver service that builds customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED General Studies Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in Hospitality/Food Services - Preferred
  • Serve Safe certification preferred
