Position Overview
The role of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow involves conducting advanced research focused on the interactions of macrophages with Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the field of microbial infection and immunity under the mentorship of experienced scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive research experiments.
- Utilize advanced techniques in molecular biology and immunology, including multicolor flow cytometry.
- Develop and implement innovative laboratory methodologies.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data effectively.
- Prepare and submit research manuscripts for publication.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews to support research initiatives.
- Present findings at various scientific conferences and meetings.
- Apply for postdoctoral fellowships and assist in grant proposal submissions to secure funding.
- Engage in collaborative discussions during journal clubs and departmental seminars.
- Mentor and train junior laboratory personnel.
Educational Requirements
A doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD) is mandatory for this position.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong interpersonal skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in molecular biology and immunology techniques.
- Familiarity with animal handling and husbandry practices.
