Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics

The Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Center for Biostatistics at The Ohio State University are seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in biostatistics at the Associate Professor level. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and interests in population sciences, Bayesian statistics, causal inference, statistical learning, high-dimensional data, and/or electronic medical records.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in biostatistics and informatics, with a focus on population sciences, Bayesian statistics, causal inference, statistical learning, high-dimensional data, and/or electronic medical records.
- Teach and mentor students in biostatistics and informatics courses.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Center for Biostatistics on research projects and grants.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research in top-tier journals.
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Experience in biostatistics and informatics research, with a focus on population sciences, Bayesian statistics, causal inference, statistical learning, high-dimensional data, and/or electronic medical records.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills, with experience in teaching biostatistics and informatics courses.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty and researchers in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Center for Biostatistics.
