Key Responsibilities:
As an Outpatient Medical Coding Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Accurate coding of outpatient medical claims, including emergency room visits, laboratory services, radiology, and infusion.
- Ensuring compliance with coding regulations and best practices to maximize reimbursement.
- Reviewing charge entry data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines set by relevant authorities.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A High School Diploma (Associate's degree preferred).
- Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) or Coding Specialist (CCS).
- 3-5 years of experience in outpatient coding, particularly in emergency room and infusion coding.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and coding software.
