We are a dynamic and highly accountable team at the Nebraska Medicine's Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant program, ranked as one of the busiest adult and pediatric stem cell transplant programs in the world.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Case Management Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients undergoing blood and marrow transplant and CAR T-cell therapy, providing cutting-edge care and support throughout their journey.
ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:
- Managing a system of patient care delivery for a designated group of patients to achieve high-quality, cost-effective outcomes across the continuum of healthcare.
- Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, APPs, and other healthcare professionals.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families, helping them navigate the complex process of bone marrow transplant and CAR T-cell therapy.
- Evaluating patient care across the continuum, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of three years' nursing experience, preferably in oncology or a related field.
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or a compact state license.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and make independent clinical judgments.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA)-endorsed program and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (dependent on department).
While not required, we welcome candidates with:
- Prior nursing experience in oncology, cardiovascular care, neonatal intensive care, nephrology, solid organ transplantation, general medical/surgical care, emergency care, critical care, med spa, dialysis, interpretation, and explanation of physical/laboratory/screening results.
- A Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
