Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing direct patient care, working under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
  • Measure and record vital signs, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup
  • Educate patients on kidney disease-related topics and provide emotional support
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BONENT certification a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet
