Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing direct patient care, working under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
- Measure and record vital signs, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup
- Educate patients on kidney disease-related topics and provide emotional support
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient outcomes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BONENT certification a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet
