Food Service Operations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Operations Director to lead our upscale restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage management, with a proven track record of success in directing and administering all aspects of a high-volume restaurant operation.
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing all food and beverage activities and programs that support and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Hire, develop, and manage a team of experienced food and beverage professionals, including food and beverage supervisors, hosts, servers, and cashiers.
  2. Cultivate a positive team culture through training and on-the-job coaching, ensuring that all staff members are empowered to provide outstanding service to guests.
  3. Organize and conduct pre-shift meetings to review specials, menu changes, house counts, and other essential information.
  4. Ensure that the restaurant and its facilities are maintained in a clean, well-stocked, and organized manner at all times.
  5. Circulate throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests at tables and attending to their needs.
  7. Implement effective cash handling procedures to accurately charge customers.
  8. Create revenue forecasts and reports, monitoring the restaurant's budget and making adjustments as needed.
  9. Oversee daily restaurant activities, including serving tables, bussing tables, seating guests, room service, and general clerical/cashier duties.
  10. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  11. Manage department members, including food and beverage supervisors, hosts, servers, and cashiers.
  12. Develop and implement ongoing training programs and tests for comprehension.
  13. Conduct staff meetings and communicate company information to employees.
  14. Monitor the daily operations and analyze the daily sales reports, weekly and monthly forecasts of the food and beverage outlet.
  15. Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
  16. Analyze financial statements (income and expenses) relative to budgeted goals and take corrective measures as necessary.
  17. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.

Requirements:

  • Must have 3-5 years related experience in food and beverage management.
  • Certified Sommelier is preferred but not required.
  • Upscale dining experience is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of course administration and operation practices and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate projects and delegate responsibility.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
