This position is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Diagnostic Radiology Physician to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Diagnostic Radiology Physician, you will play a critical role in providing expert interpretation of advanced body MRI exams, low-dose CTs, and general chest, abdomen, and pelvis CTs. You will also be responsible for interpreting general ultrasound and plain films, supporting patient care services with communication of exam results, and consulting with providers on various aspects of imaging.
Responsibilities- Provides expert interpretation of advanced body MRI exams, including prostate, liver, rectal, and female pelvic MRI.
- Interprets low-dose CTs for an established Lung Cancer Screening program and general chest, abdomen, and pelvis CTs.
- Interprets general ultrasound and plain films.
- Supports patient care services with communication of exam results appropriate to the level of clinical importance or acuity.
- Consults with providers on various aspects of imaging, including exam selection and appropriateness criteria.
- Prescribes exam protocols and modifies as needed for specific clinical indications.
- Provides oversight of technical image quality with feedback to technologists.
- Provides education and supervision of diagnostic radiology residents rotating from the University of California, Irvine.
- Provides education for members of the medical staff through interdisciplinary conferences, tumor boards, committees, or lecture series.
- Attends staff meetings and participates in peer review and peer learning.
- Completes all mandatory annual training and maintains BLS certification.

- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
- United States citizenship.
- Doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
