Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist Special Procedures plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Invasive Cardiology department. As a skilled imaging professional, you will perform radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures, assist physicians during procedures, and ensure the highest level of quality and safety in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control and assurance on imaging equipment to ensure safe and reliable function.
  • Administer safe contrast media and practice radiation protection measures to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Evaluate and attend to patient physical and emotional needs before, during, and after exams to ensure a positive experience.
  • Prepare equipment for procedures and maintain a clean and organized exam area.
  • Accurately record patient demographics and procedure information.
  • Assist with patient care and preparation for procedures, including procedural setup and patient preparation.
  • Support physician relationships and partnerships by maintaining clear communication and timely follow-up.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years' general radiologic technology experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Graduation from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA), Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Current licensure for specific area of expertise (CRT, Fluoroscopy).
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) certification as an IRT or Invasive Cardiology (IC) - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certificate or Cardic-Intervential (CI) preferred.
