Position Summary

The Project Leader is tasked with overseeing company assets, workforce, and various resources within the designated budget and timeline of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct projects with a comprehensive understanding of both technical and practical elements of DEC/SEC scope.
  • Administer contracts through detailed reviews with accounting and project executives.
  • Identify, manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks appropriately throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure the development, implementation, and execution of safety protocols, including all reporting and PPE requirements as mandated by OSHA, the company, and the project site.
  • Anticipate potential consequences of actions, possible issues, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee deadlines, project scheduling, and maintain effective communication with the project team.
  • Manage the RFI process in collaboration with Project Engineering team members.
  • Supervise and maintain project documentation, including criteria and compliance logs.
  • Oversee all job roles, descriptions, and necessary reporting structures within the project framework.
  • Guide team members by assigning tasks, reviewing work, providing consistent feedback, and supporting career development.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to optimize resources and workforce on the project.
  • Act as a liaison with the General Contractor, Architect, Owner, and project team members consistently.
  • Conduct Constructability Reviews with project team members, including field personnel and engineering staff.
  • Coordinate the processing, review, and timely delivery of shop drawings and submittals; may occasionally oversee general submittals.
  • Engage in the creation and/or participation in change estimates.
  • Facilitate and coordinate processes and communications, including vendor/subcontractor buyout and interactions between vendor/subcontractor and Engineering; manage the purchase/release of materials after approved submittals.
  • Oversee the final draft and review of all Purchase Orders, Purchase Agreements, and Subcontract Agreements.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive project budget and manage it throughout the project duration.
  • Review and approve all invoices for assigned projects within the required timelines.
  • Update weekly estimates of final costs and manage monthly cash flow and cost reporting.
  • Create schedules of value, monthly billings, and monthly billing reports for accounting.
  • Alongside the project superintendent, manage labor production reporting throughout the project.
  • Ensure Project Quality Control through oversight and/or development of punchlists.
  • Provide mentorship to junior project team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Operate company and rental vehicles as needed.
  • Lift up to 30lbs.
  • Travel to various projects as assigned and as reasonable.
  • Perform basic office duties, including typing, copying, emailing, etc.
  • Operate tools and machinery as required.
  • May be required to work outside of normal business hours, as dictated by project needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate.
  • Uphold the standards, culture, and values of CML Security.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in project management, project engineering, or a related industry; general contracting experience is strongly preferred.
  • At least six months of field installation experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Project, Adobe or Bluebeam, Timberline or similar accounting software; knowledge of AutoCAD and Onscreen Takeoff is considered a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of construction contract documentation.
  • Valid Driver's License.
