We are looking for a dedicated Metal Finishing Specialist to contribute to our operations at Advantage Manufacturing of Colorado Springs. In this role, you will be tasked with the essential functions of cleaning, preparing, and organizing parts for powder coating processes on various metal components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, preparation, and racking of parts for powder coating applications.
- Utilize a steam cleaning system to wash parts effectively.
- Manage the transfer of coated racks into curing ovens, ensuring optimal temperatures and cycle times are maintained.
- Identify appropriate powder colors and monitor inventory levels to ensure availability.
- Follow strict production schedules to meet operational targets.
- Provide assistance to colleagues in adjacent functional areas as needed.
- Communicate daily with supervisors regarding scheduling and operational requirements.
- Interpret blueprints and comprehend requirements such as masking and plugging.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain application equipment in proper working condition.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass annual pulmonary testing.
- High school diploma is required.
- Relevant college coursework in painting disciplines is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in powder coating is preferred but not essential.
Work Environment
This position is situated in a production coating area where exposure to moisture, dust, and heat is typical. The role primarily involves working in a wash booth while standing and extending arms. Candidates should be comfortable wearing protective gear such as respirators, hoods, or full suits for prolonged periods in warm and humid conditions.
Work Schedule
Our facility operates on three shifts, with a current focus on staffing the second shift.
Compensation
The compensation for this role is determined by skills and experience, ranging from $17 to $19 per hour.
