Job Summary

Larson Design Group, a leading Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting Firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Highway Design Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing clients and projects, including design, communications, personnel management, budgets, schedules, quality control, business development, and client communication & relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead large-scale highway design projects with construction costs over $50 million.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation & modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Manage clients/highway projects specific to local municipalities, PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other government agencies.
  • Oversee services with annual revenue exceeding $1M.
  • Create and track client proposals, including writing scope, technical & price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, developing budgets & schedules, and identifying potential issues.
  • Prepare workload forecasting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, survey, and other rules, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to design of projects.
  • Prepare technical and price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, and schedules.
  • Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate contract agreements for projects. Sign contract agreements within allotted parameters.
  • Identify new markets, develop leads & opportunities, perform business development activities, and pursue new geographies.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and sub-consultants.
  • Direct, mentor, and guide team members and staff; provide annual performance evaluations and career development plans.
  • Manage project risk in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) or other professional licensure in field of expertise strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a Project Team, with strong leadership & interpersonal skills, and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external sources.
  • Proficiency in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.
  • Knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads Designer, and ASTA is a plus.
