Senior Performance Engineer

Energy Systems Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Engineer to join our Public Sector East team. The ideal candidate will be based in the Northeast and will be required to travel frequently, including overnight stays.

About the Role

The Senior Performance Engineer will be the primary technical project developer in the northeast region. As the primary resource for technical expertise, Account Executives and Regional management will rely on the Senior Performance Engineer to understand the technical needs and wants of a customer and turn that information into accurate and concrete solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies within a facility
  • Analyze utility bills and financials to identify areas for improvement
  • Meet with contractors and provide technical solutions that are creative, economical, and technically sound
  • Facilitate communication among the internal team, sub-contractors, and customers by creating technical plans and conveying solutions and risk
  • Perform energy savings calculations, operational savings calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and feasibility analysis of recommendations and associated risks
  • Create financial models based on the parameters given by the customer and the results of the projects being developed
  • Coordinate with Account Executive and Project Manager to develop and present proposals to customers
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure smooth installation and act as a communication link for technical information between the operations team and the sales team
  • Identify and work with subcontractors and consultants to provide technical analysis and descriptions for project installation and ensure the quality of work delivered exceeds the requirements of the job
  • Approve equipment before it is ordered to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery
  • Evaluate risk associated with technical feasibility, constructability, scope, costs, and guarantee
  • Maintain full technical understanding of energy and plant/facility operations and serve as the ongoing technical resource consultant for the customer
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited or equivalent Engineering program
  • 10 years' engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer license and at least one (1) certification from the following field: CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB, or ASHRAE
