Senior Performance Engineer

Energy Systems Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Engineer to join our Public Sector East team. This role is based in the Northeast and requires frequent travel, including overnight stays.

The Senior Performance Engineer will be the primary technical project developer in the northeast region, responsible for understanding the technical needs and wants of customers and turning that information into accurate solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited or equivalent Engineering program, and at least 10 years of experience in the field. Professional Engineer license and certification in a relevant field, such as CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB, or ASHRAE, are also required.

The Senior Performance Engineer will be responsible for conducting in-depth site surveys, analyzing utility bills, and meeting with contractors to provide technical solutions. They will also facilitate communication among the internal team, sub-contractors, and customers, and perform energy savings calculations and feasibility analysis.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong understanding of energy and plant/facility operations, and be able to serve as a technical resource consultant for customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies
  • Analyze utility bills and financials to identify areas for improvement
  • Meet with contractors to provide technical solutions
  • Facilitate communication among the internal team, sub-contractors, and customers
  • Perform energy savings calculations and feasibility analysis
  • Create financial models based on customer parameters and project results
  • Coordinate with Account Executive and Project Manager to develop and present proposals to customers
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure smooth installation and act as a communication link for technical information between the operations team and the sales team
  • Identify and work with subcontractors and consultants to provide technical analysis and descriptions for project installation
  • Approve equipment before it is ordered to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery
  • Evaluate risk associated with technical feasibility, constructability, scope, costs, and guarantee
  • Maintain full technical understanding of energy and plant/facility operations and serve as a technical resource consultant for customers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited or equivalent Engineering program
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field
  • Professional Engineer license and certification in a relevant field, such as CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB, or ASHRAE
