Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to patients and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system
  • Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals
  • Comply with facility policy and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose
  • Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners and suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives
  • Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, and promote rational drug therapy selection
  • Attend and actively participate in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience or at least 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience required
  • BCPS certification or other Board of Pharmacy Specialty (BPS) certification
  • Current Registered Pharmacist licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or licensed pharmacist in another state with proof of Authorization to Test (ATT) from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
