Physical Demands:

This role necessitates frequent standing or walking while handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds; lifting, pushing, or pulling items that may exceed 50 pounds; and working at heights above four feet. The position may also involve repetitive motions and occasional work in confined spaces. There is a potential risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients and equipment, as well as exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous materials, and health risks associated with patient care.

Work Schedule:

Availability to work three 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) weekly, along with some weekends and holidays is required.

Job Overview:

The Paramedic will function within the Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting nursing staff. Responsibilities include executing patient care tasks in collaboration with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The role involves organizing, prioritizing, and delivering direct patient care in accordance with established protocols within the hospital environment.

Required Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate should possess clinical care experience, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, IV insertion, NGT placement, urinary catheterization, assisting with EKGs, wound care, suctioning, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED along with three years of paramedic experience, and current Kentucky Paramedic certification or licensure, as well as American Heart Association certifications (BLS, ACLS, and PALS) are preferred.
