About the Role

MathWorks is seeking a seasoned technical leader to drive strategy and transition our hosting services to a truly hybrid cloud environment. As a Cloud Hosting Director, you will lead an established team of talented engineers guiding a diverse set of hosting services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Communication: Help set direction and strategy for the team and its services, and communicate that strategy to internal customers.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with internal customers to understand their needs and gather feedback.
  • Automation and Self-Service: Drive automation and self-service into the environment as a means of reducing waste and increasing quality.
  • Team Development: Actively engage with the members of the team with transparency and authenticity, coaching and developing them and their careers.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions with deeply technical people to arrive at solutions that meet the needs of our business.
  • Operational Stability: Ensure operational stability throughout the global environment, proactively addressing issues before they become fires.
Requirements
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and operating in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Migration Experience: Experience with migrating on-premises workloads to the public cloud.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DevOps Experience: Familiarity with DevOps and experience in a DevOps culture.
  • Azure Arc Experience: Experience with the Azure Arc management platform.
  • Agile Scrum Experience: Experience with Agile Scrum and associated tools (Jira preferred).
Education and Experience
  • Education: A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Management Experience: 2 years management experience is required.
