- Process sales transactions accurately, handling cash, checks, and credit or debit cards.
- Assist customers in resolving complaints, escalating them to management when necessary.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with products or services.
- Operate the cash register efficiently, using the UPC scanner and product keywords.
- Process returns and exchanges according to store policy.
- Assist with stocking and restocking products, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers and scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Knowledge of building products and local building codes.
- Knowledgeable about the company's products and services, as well as customer-related policies.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on the computer or related equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times, and occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
