Position Summary:

Brightspeed is seeking a Senior Internal Audit and Compliance Analyst to become a vital part of our team. This role requires a meticulous individual responsible for executing internal audits aimed at evaluating the efficiency of internal controls, pinpointing improvement opportunities, and ensuring adherence to policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of auditing principles, and the ability to convey audit findings effectively.

Moreover, the Senior Internal Audit and Compliance Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring the organization’s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by evaluating, monitoring, and refining internal controls and processes. The Analyst will engage in business process evaluations to identify key controls, stay informed about business changes that may impact controls, conduct thorough testing of essential controls, and oversee the remediation of action plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the planning, execution, and reporting phases of internal audits across various departments to assess the adequacy of internal controls.
  • Develop and implement SOX testing strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of controls related to financial reporting, ensuring comprehensive documentation of testing workpapers.
  • Identify root causes and best practices in control design and operational efficiency, and communicate findings to management.
  • Enhance process efficiency by recognizing gaps and areas for improvement, assessing their significance and impact.
  • Collaborate with management to track the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of action plans.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of audit methodologies and processes.
  • Lead or assist in data analytics initiatives, integrating analytics into audit practices and identifying automation opportunities in collaboration with IT.
  • Work closely with process owners to emphasize the importance of maintaining robust internal controls and the role of internal audit.
  • Foster strong working relationships with Business Process owners to enhance collaboration between teams.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 15%.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience (1+ years) in control identification and testing.
  • Familiarity with business processes, financial reporting, and IT audit and control frameworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, CIA, CPA, or CISA, or a desire to pursue advanced certifications.
  • Prior experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, or SOX compliance.
  • Experience with audit software and data analytics tools.
  • Background in the telecommunications sector.
