Role Overview: As an Export Agent, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating new bookings with ocean and air carriers, ensuring all necessary data is accurately entered into our software systems. You will coordinate drayage services with local transportation companies and receive freight load plans from the warehouse manager, verifying that all information is correctly documented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review load plan discrepancy reports to confirm actual loads.
  • Process ACE for all export shipments utilizing company software.
  • Generate and produce master and house bills of lading from the software.
  • Issue marine insurance policies as required, ensuring accurate information is provided.
  • Communicate any delays, issues, or concerns to sales personnel.
  • Distribute export documentation to consignees and destination agents via email or courier as necessary.
  • Close and archive files upon completion of shipments.

Objective: The primary goal of this role is to effectively coordinate ocean and air freight booking modes of transport, ensuring timely processing and providing exceptional customer support to both agents and clients.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in ocean export operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Employment Type: This is a permanent position.

Work Environment: The role is based in a medium-sized office environment with a team of 20-30 employees. While the space is smaller compared to larger freight forwarding companies, it fosters a collaborative atmosphere.
