CNC Machine Operations Specialist

Masters Machine Company seeks a skilled CNC Setup/Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for laying out and developing programs for effective machining, reading and interpreting blueprints, planning sheets, and sketches to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up machines to perform various functions such as drilling, cutting, milling, reaming, boring, or broaching metal parts, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machine ability of materials, and shop math.
• Entering commands from preprogrammed databases and manually adjusting machine controls to correct malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
• Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling attachments and parts on machines.
• Selecting and installing cutting tools in machine spindles.
• Calculating and setting machine controls to position spindles in relation to parts and regulating factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Stopping machines to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequences or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Training operators to utilize skills needed to maintain quality products.
• Adhering to production schedules and maintaining a safe and clean work environment following all safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with machine operations and G-Code programming using variables and macro -B arguments.
• 1-4 years of hands-on experience as a setup/programmer in a production metal cutting environment.
• Visual inspection skills with the use of a dino-lite and attention to detail.
• Flexible, reliable, self-starting team players with the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, as well as hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of an emergency situation.
