Job Title: Research Programmer/Analyst II

At The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice, we are seeking a highly skilled Research Programmer/Analyst II to join our team. This role will support research programming and analytic activities for principal investigators and their project teams using administrative claims datasets and other supporting data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and extract relevant data sources, merge, transform, and manipulate dataset structure for optimal analytic structure.
  • Develop and implement statistical methods to structured data, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Communicate proactively with research teams to ensure data/research method decisions align with project goals.
  • Prepare written grant proposals, research reports, scientific presentations, and published articles.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in programming/analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, and STATA statistical software.
  • Experience with medical claims datasets and data mining/predictive analytics with machine learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a research setting or technical leadership/mentorship role.
  • Experience working with medical claims data in CMS's Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
