Senior Billing Manager

ECS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Billing Manager to lead our billing team in Fairfax, VA or remotely. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and guide a team of 17 billing professionals, including 2 supervisors, to achieve high productivity and successful processing of customer invoices.
  • Oversee workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate invoicing processes.
  • Ensure all invoicing processes are completed in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers on all billing matters.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and manage the performance of new and existing billing staff.
  • Oversee and manage billed and unbilled accounts receivable reconciliations and analysis.
  • Maintain variance analyses between revenue and billed amounts.
  • Work with operation leadership to clear unbilled amounts.
  • Perform sub-ledger reconciliations, accounts receivable analysis, reserves, and write-offs.
  • Manage the team to ensure they drive and follow up on problem, aged, and large dollar invoices.
  • Partner with Operations to educate and drive DSO targets.
  • Support internal, external, and government audits as required.
  • Execute SOX controls and communicate with audit teams.
  • Partner with leadership to define future projects, automations, and tools needed for growth and success of the billing department.
  • Government Contracting experience is a must.
  • 15+ years of experience in accounting/finance or equivalent with increasing responsibility.
  • 10+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, charts, management reporting, etc.).
  • Experience in Deltek Costpoint, WAWF, IPP, and other government billing platforms.
