Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Samaritan Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and other relevant information.
- Conduct thorough patient interviews, document chief complaints, and record vital signs and other relevant information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Establish priorities for daily activities, effectively manage patient flow, and anticipate special equipment, solutions, and supplies needed for various procedures.
- Triage patients to the appropriate level of care, utilizing triage protocols and consultation with Providers.
- Assist with Basic Life Support (BLS) measures, instruct patients in collecting samples and tests, and consistently demonstrate correct handling of procedure specimens per Provider orders.
- Communicate test results and instructions to patients per practice protocol, act as a content expert and clinical resource, and provide staff and patient education.
- Educate patients and caregivers about diagnostic procedures, medications, chronic disease management, and treatment instructions.
- Carry out orders as approved by supervising Providers, assist Providers during examinations and procedures, and assess surgical and acute wounds to assist Providers with treatment.
- Ensure proper inventorying and ordering of medical supplies and maintenance of emergency equipment, assist with medication management for patients, and accurately and promptly request prescription authorizations and orders refills on medications as authorized by Provider and/or practice policy.
- Understand surgical inpatient procedures and care, perform non-face-to-face services, and assist with documentation in documentation platforms as required.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.
- Current (Healthcare Provider [HCP] level) CPR certification.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Experience working in a clinic setting providing support to Providers in a variety of medical specialties preferred.
- Demonstrate competency on equipment listed on department-specific checklist.
- Critical thinking skills: seek resources for direction when necessary, perform independent problem-solving, and make logical and deliberate decisions.
- Perform actions that demonstrate accountability, exercise safe judgment in decision-making, and practice within legal and ethical guidelines.
- Demonstrate competency in caring for customers/patients across the age continuum and the ability to work with various Providers in specialty departments.
- Facilitate and demonstrate communication critical to effective teamwork among various departments.
- Occasional prolonged standing/walking.
- Occasional lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Extremely heavy physical effort, lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
- Intermittent exertion when performing treatments.
- Good reading eyesight; full visual acuity, depth perception, and color perception.
- Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with Providers, nurses, healthcare professionals, patients, and/or family, and the public.
