Strategic Systems Programs Office - SENIOR SECURITY OPERATIONS LEADER

Overview:
This role is integral to the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level includes positions that are comparable to GS-12 and GS-13.

As a Senior Security Operations Leader, you will be a pivotal member of the Security Department, specifically within the Security Operations & Plans Division (Code S53).


Key Responsibilities:


• Lead initiatives to develop and implement Nuclear Weapon Security (NWS) policies, procedures, and programs aimed at safeguarding strategic assets.
• Conduct comprehensive NWS vulnerability and threat assessments, coordinating schedules to enhance security operations while producing essential administrative documents, directives, presentations, and informational briefs.
• Collaborate in the formulation and execution of NWS Nuclear policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Design, assess, plan, and evaluate protocols, standards, training, and methodologies for the protection of strategic assets located on federal properties.
• Oversee security force operations and performance, conducting internal audits, reviews, and analyses to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Represent the organization in meetings with other agencies regarding NWS programs and policies.
• Mentor and lead professional staff to promote efficiency, cost-effectiveness, productivity, and overall organizational success.


Qualifications:

Your application must reflect at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-2 broadband level (GS-11 equivalency) within the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


Specialized Experience Must Include:


• Applying a comprehensive range of personnel security principles to assess the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for sensitive and non-sensitive roles.
• Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer efforts through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social).

Volunteer experience is valuable as it builds critical competencies, knowledge, and skills that directly translate to professional roles.
