As a key member of the healthcare team, the Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality control measures.
Core Responsibilities
- Generate quality x-rays efficiently by applying accepted radiographic techniques and understanding human anatomy.
- Verify the quality of radiographs and ensure proper labeling and clarity of all necessary information.
- Conduct darkroom operations, including the handling of cassettes and the use of automatic film processors.
- Perform routine maintenance on radiographic equipment and report any issues.
- Uphold safety standards regarding equipment usage and maintain a clean working environment.
- Manage data entry and maintain the x-ray database to support licensing and certification requirements.
- Engage with community services as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology Training School, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in standard software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Must hold certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and possess Medical Radiologist Texas (MRT) certification.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and the capacity to lift and carry up to 25 lbs without assistance.
