Job Title: Property Accountant

Nolan Living is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for managing the General Ledger and financial reporting for assigned properties.

Job Summary:

The Property Accountant will assist the property management team with financial management and reporting activities. This includes analyzing account balances, preparing reconciliations, and proposing adjusting entries as needed. You will also be responsible for reconciling all Balance Sheets and bank accounts for assigned properties, meeting required deadlines.

In addition, you will manage payable functions, including weekly processing of payments, bank reconciliations, and vendor inquiries. You will also oversee a wide range of projects, resolve accounting-related problems, and provide support/analytics on ad-hoc requests.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting, reporting, and analysis for an assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Assist Property Management staff with budget preparation.
  • Analyze account balances, prepare reconciliations, and propose adjusting entries as needed.
  • Reconcile all Balance Sheets and bank accounts for assigned properties monthly, meeting required deadlines.
  • Manage payable functions, including weekly processing of payments, bank reconciliations, and vendor inquiries.
  • Oversee a wide range of projects, resolve accounting-related problems, and provide support/analytics on ad-hoc requests.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for real estate property accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of Yardi strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
