Position Overview

The Speech/Language Pathologist is responsible for delivering proficient, courteous, and respectful evaluation, treatment, and oversight of patients facing challenges in communication, cognitive processing, problem-solving, and swallowing. This role adheres to the guidelines established by ASHA and state licensure laws, ensuring effective communication with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals while maintaining precise and professional documentation of services in the medical record.

The Speech/Language Pathologist will also conduct training sessions for facility staff on a continuous basis, focusing on restorative and functional maintenance programs. This position reports to the Therapy Program Manager and ultimately to the Director of Operations. Our Speech/Language Pathologists exemplify and advocate for competent, courteous, and professional services to both internal and external stakeholders, thereby fostering a competitive edge. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for rehabilitation services promptly following physician orders.
  • Design effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Implement treatment plans in accordance with established care protocols.
  • Maintain open communication with physicians, clinical managers, and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress and concerns.
  • Engage in Care Conference Meetings and Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
  • Document evaluations, treatment notes, and progress updates accurately, contributing to discharge summaries and daily billing processes.
  • Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs.
  • Contribute to discharge planning efforts.
  • Meet or exceed the productivity standards set by the organization.
  • Recommend necessary equipment to enhance clinical service delivery.
  • Report any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Supervise graduate clinicians from affiliated universities and colleges.
  • Adhere to state-specific Speech Pathology Licensure Standards.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient working environment.
  • Consistently represent the mission, vision, core values, and professional image of Concept Rehab, exercising sound judgment in all job functions.
  • Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Strong relationship-building skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, high emotional intelligence, outstanding oral and written communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, analytical thinking, and cultural awareness are essential. The candidate must demonstrate ethical practice, the ability to exercise independent judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • State licensure to practice as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
