We are seeking a certified law enforcement officer in the state of Virginia.
Eligible for Sign-On Bonus.
The role involves delivering professional law enforcement services within the Carilion Clinic. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and security of the premises, protecting lives and property, preventing criminal activities, and enforcing applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and investigate suspicious activities by responding to alerts and conducting patrols to detect security vulnerabilities such as unsecured entrances.
- Collaborate with external law enforcement agencies during their engagement with hospital operations, staff, patients, and visitors.
- Provide security for individuals in custody, mental health patients, special events, dignitaries, and staff as required.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all service requests related to traffic, criminal, or non-criminal incidents.
- Enforce laws, conduct investigations, and manage crime scene protocols.
- Direct traffic and oversee parking compliance.
- Prepare and submit all necessary reports in a timely manner.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure/Certification: Must meet Virginia's minimum training standards for law enforcement officers and hold current certification from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. A valid Virginia driver's license is also required.
Additional Requirements: A driving record that complies with Carilion's Driver Regulations is necessary. Applicants must be at least 21 years old due to state law. Proficiency in computer keyboarding and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Candidates must meet Virginia's minimum criteria for law enforcement officers.
