Job Summary

The Assistant Plant Manager is a key member of the Nutrius, LLC team, responsible for overseeing plant operations and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves managing daily plant operations, assessing workforce performance, and performing administrative tasks such as producing progress reports and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a positive and efficient work environment, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Develop and implement training programs to aid in culture development and employee growth.
  • Provide direction and oversight to production and maintenance teams to ensure optimal production and facility care.
  • Manage and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with all departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prioritize and coordinate rail logistics and unload activities for optimal performance.
  • Provide technical and managerial expertise to solve problems and implement improvements.
  • Responsible for hiring, development, and retention of employees, including disciplinary actions and employee issues.
  • Assist operations management in performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets, monitor overtime, and assist with employee scheduling.
  • Maintain all required documentation and records, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Responsible for managing facility housekeeping and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to increase machine reliability and reduce downtime events.
  • Lead planning efforts to execute facility projects, including coordination of contractors and resources.
Requirements
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency calls.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record; class A CDL license preferred.
