As a Service Center Maintenance Technician at FedEx Freight, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service centers. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on service center facilities, including electrical, lighting, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and welding tasks.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the grounds and dock area of the service center, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for employees and visitors.
- Technical Support: Physically set up computers and provide technical support for computer repair, as well as install and repair telephones.
- Supply Management: Order service center maintenance supplies and ensure that all necessary materials are available for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company standards for regulatory code requirements of fire and safety, state and local agencies, and maintain accurate records of inspections and compliance.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete required paperwork for building maintenance accurately and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry, and plumbing skills, ability to follow instructions, and basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience: PC experience and ability to use maintenance software programs.
- Exposure to: Noise and vibration, dust and diesel fumes, hazardous materials shipped and packaged under DOT regulations, and all weather types when working outdoors.
- Hours and Travel: Hours may vary due to operational need, and travel to other centers may be required.
