Job Summary

The Cyclotron Research Group at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a highly skilled Radiometals Chemist to join its team of multidisciplinary scientists and researchers. As a key member of the group, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of methods for providing novel and established radiometal synthons for preclinical and clinical nuclear medicine research.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research experiments according to established research protocols, collecting data and monitoring test results with moderate impact to the project(s).
  • Operate, clean, and maintain research equipment and research area, tracking inventory levels and placing replenishment orders.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences.
  • Participate in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials.
  • Perform literature reviews and write reports.
  • Perform and document analytical and quality control assays.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a laboratory setting serving a relevant field of work (e.g., chemistry, nuclear chemistry, radiochemistry, radiopharmaceutical chemistry, elemental separations chemistry, etc.).
  • Radiochemistry experience, especially with radiometals.
  • Experience with automated chemistry modules.
  • Experience working in hot cells or shielded fume hoods.
  • Familiarity with cyclotron-based radionuclide production.
